Another brilliant year of the PKC has come to an end. An incredible night of racing saw the event enjoy packed grids and some of the best on track action ever! In the heavyweights, Michael Lloyd Davies (Carmarthen) overcame a returning Damien Holmes (Haverfordwest) to take the win although new driver Rhys Collins (Llanelli) made an immediate impact to finish third. Collins hopes to compete in the PKC full time in 2019 and looks set to be an early title contender. In the lightweights, Stuart Davis (Milford Haven) took his maiden PKC win ahead of Colin Rowland Mason (Haverfordwest) and Joshua Partis (Milford Haven). The intermediates continued to provide thrills with Ashley Hutchings (Milford Haven) also taking his maiden PKC victory with closest rival James Williams(Swansea) coming second with Matthew Morgan (Pembroke) in third. As the racing drew to a close, the drop rounds were applied and the results were calculated. A huge congratulations to our 2018 Champions and trophy winners; 2018 Heavyweight Champion - Michael Lloyd Davies 2nd - Andrew Cook (Clydach) 3rd - Andrew Martin Michael was able to secure the title early on as the grid for the heavyweights decreased but Michael proved his ability by consistently pushing and often beating leading drivers from the other weight divisions. 2018 Lightweight Champion - Sam Joseph 2nd - Colin Rowland Mason 3rd - Joshua Partis Sam has now become an unprecedented 6 time PKC Champion. Wrapping the title up with a round to spare shows just how good he is. It hasn't been a walk in the park however with Colin pushing and actually beating Sam on several occasions. Joshua could never be ruled out either. He was always there and on the pace and has been very unfortunate to not win an event this year. 2018 Intermediate Champion - James Williams 2nd - Ashley Hutchings 3rd - Tess Howell (Drefach Felindre) The competition has been incredibly tough this year in this new for 2018 weight division. The top 5 drivers have been close on pace and talent all season and it has been tough to pick a favourite. James rose to the challenge and put in several great races but was under great pressure from Ashley whose form has been on the upward trend all year. Tess has been consistently on the pace this year and with some brilliant drives inside was able to jump into the top 3 at the final round. 2018 Ladies Cup winner - Tess Howell Tess consistently beats her male counterparts and is a great ambassador for the PKC. 2018 Masters Cup winner - Andrew Cook It was close between Andrew, Mike Holder (Llanycefn) and Tess Howell but Andrew was able to take advantage of the points situation to claim the trophy. 2018 Rookie of the Year - Wais Kuba (Cardiff) After a string of strong drivers, Wais has been entertaining to watch on track but has also shown a level of competitiveness that could lead to greater things. 2018 Fastest Lap Challenge winner - Sam Joseph Blisteringly fast all season. Sam was a worthy winner of the award. A huge thank you and well done to the above drivers, our Champions and winners. We look forward to taking you to the Autosport International and the Williams Martini Formula 1 factory tour for your prize! We would also like to extend our thanks to every driver who has competed in the PKC this year, especially those who have supported us for most of the season including; Trev McCullagh, Nathan James, John Mason, Alix Alliston, Brian Newton, Tash Reynolds, Cameron Williams and Eirian Joyner. We also wish to extend our sincere thanks to the whole teams at West Wales Karting and Carew Karting for hosting our events this year and continuing to support us. All results and standings from the season will be available in the coming days. All eyes now turn to our endurance round which will be held November 3. Keep checking back for more updates.
