Who can take part in the Pembrokeshire Karting Championship?
Anyone can take part providing they are aged 14 or over.
Why do I need to SIGN UP?
Each event has a limited number of spaces and as we don't ask for deposits we need an idea of how many people will attend each round. By registering, drivers will have priority at each round over arrive and drive competitors. Even though you register, we will still contact you prior to each round to confirm if you can attend.
How many events are there during the year?
There will be 8 rounds throughout the year. See the calendar page to check dates.
Do I have to race in every event?
No, you can take part in as many or as little events as you want. You'll need to race in most rounds if you want to have a good shot at either the Lightweight or Heavyweight title or to be in a position to win the Masters Cup, Rookie Cup or Ladies Cup. If you can't make every round or if you fall out of contention, don't worry because you can still win one of our special trophies during the year, like the Spring, Summer and Autumn Cups or the Fastest Lap Challenge. Plus our drop round means only your top 7 events will count towards your championship.
What is the Fastest Lap Challenge?
At the end of Round 3, we will hold the Fastest Lap Challenge for the top drivers of the event which is included in the price. Drivers will have one flying lap only to set the quickest lap they can.
How much is each event?
This year drivers must pay £40 per round
Are there any membership fees?
Drivers must pay a one off Championship Registration Fee of £10, which is payable in cash on the day of their first round. This fee goes towards prizes, trophies, marketing and promotion costs and must be paid in cash to the organiser on arrival.

How long does each event last?
Depending on the number of drivers, an event can take between 1.5 - 3 hours
Does it matter if I have no experience?
Not at all. Most drivers who race in the Pembrokeshire Karting Championship have limited or no experience so you won't be alone. If you are a beginner and find you're not very smooth or quick, we recommend you race in at least 1 more round. You'll be surprised how well you do, trust us! You will be classed as a Rookie driver and will be included in the Rookie of the Year category.
Won't the lightest person always have the advantage?
Just because someone weighs less than you, doesn't necessarily mean they will be faster than you. At the first round, we determine the weight thresholds between the lightweight and heavyweight drivers. This figure will be set for the season and the two weight classes will race completely separate (numbers permitting) so there won't be any big weight advantages. If attendances are low and we are forced to group two weights together, they will score independently from each other.
Where can I find results from the event I take part in?
All results are published within 48 hours on www.pembrokeshirekarting.co.uk and also our socials.
Will there be a photographer?
Where possible, a local photographer will be on hand during each event
