Sam Joseph (Swansea) returned to the PKC with a dominant event win at Round 5. Carew Karting hosted the drivers for their fifth outing this season. Having not raced the 2015 format or the new track layout, the pressure was on Joseph although this didn't show as he produced a classic win with a pole position and two race wins in the lightweight category. Adam Jones (New Hedges) kept his head down and stayed out of trouble in the feature race to allow him to claim second place ahead of championship leader Dan Thomas (Templeton) who spun in the feature race.
In the heavyweights, after almost missing the event, Michael Davies (Carmarthen) was able to secure enough points to win the event in his weight category. The absence of Chris Davies (Crymych) allowed Brian Newton (Llansteffan) to focus on maximising his points to leapfrog Davies in the standings to sit top of the table. On his first round of the year, David Burger (Whitland) surprised rivals with his pace and was able to claim third. The PKC takes a break over August and will see Round 6 return to West Wales Karting.
