The sun sets on 2015...

Fantastic end to the season. As the sun set on the 2015 Pembrokeshire Karting Championship we crowned our new Champions. Huge congratulations to Dan Thomas (Templeton) who became our Lightweight Champion and Chris Davies (Crymych), our new Heavyweight Champion. As part of their prize, they will both be sent on an exclusive factory tour of the Sahara Force India Formula One team.

Runners up in the lightweights Sam Dolbear (St Florence) and Stuart Davis (Milford Haven) pushed hard to the very final race and have established themselves as stars of the future. Despite leading the heavyweight standings most of the season, Brian Newton (Llansteffan) missed out by 3 points after the drop round points had been applied. A true sportsman and gentleman, Brian will once again be a strong contender next year. Another solid performance from Michael Davies (Carmarthen) saw him just miss out on the big prize but was able to consolidate third position.

Brian and Sam were able to leave the track with a smile as they won the Masters Cup and Rookie of the Year Cup respectively. Despite being unable to attend, Melany Howell won the Ladies Cup.

Adam Jones (New Hedges) along with Chris came out on top of the Fastest Lap Challenge meaning they both win a supercar driving experience on a special trackday.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the staff and marshalls at both Carew Karting and West Wales Karting for their continued support of the PKC and allowing us to showcase the talent that Pembrokeshire and the surrounding areas has to offer. This year has been very successful with a wave of new faces participating. We appreciate and send thanks to everyone who has raced in our events this year, especially drivers who have been able to attend the majority of round and their supporters.

We will be conducting our annual survey in the next few weeks to get as much feedback as possible to look for ways to build on and improve the Championship.

The PKC will return in 2016, but in the meantime we have the Winter Endurance League to once again look forward to. Details will be released in due course.
