Another great turnout at Round 5 today at Carew Karting. Thank you to all competitors who raced in our last round before the Summer break.
Adam Jones (Tenby) took his third win of the season in the lightweight division ahead of Sam Joseph (Swansea) and Stuart Davis (Milford Haven) who were all very closely matched throughout the event. Wais Kuba (Cardiff) and Graeme Cobb (London) kept the leading trio honest with great drives throughout the round with William Samuel Dolbear (Sageston) and Mike Holder (Llanycefn) often in the mix. It was tighter in the heavyweight division with Jess Holmes (Haverfordwest) leading throughout the event until the final race where Brian Newton(Llanybri) was able to take just enough points off Jess to take the overall win by just a single point! Rookie driver Chris Foote (Glynneath) managed to take third overall ahead of Christopher Llewelyn (Derwydd) and James Williams (Swansea). With her brilliant driving, Jess Holmes picked up the awards for the Best Rookie and Best Female driver of the day with Brian Newton taking the Best of the Over 40's. In the Fastest Lap Challenge, Sam Joseph extended his lead at the top of the table with the quickest time around the reverse layout of the circuit. With just two rounds remaining, it is still unclear which driver from either weight division will finish the season as Champion and win a place on our exclusive F1 factory tour. We now break up for the Summer but will return in September when the PKC lands back at West Wales Karting for Round 6.
